Patt Neighborhood |
|
|
In 1981, the
Jerusalem Foundation, with the support of the Cukier, Goldstein-Goren
Foundation, established a Park and Sports Center in the Patt Neighborhood.
This project, dedicated to the memory of the late Bracha Goldstein, mother
of Avram Goldstein-Goren, is located in the heart of the neighborhood.
Covering 45 dunams (more than 11 acres), the Center includes a Jerusalem
Pine grove, a children’s playground, football fields and basketball
courts. Special lighting facilities enable night usage. In 2005 the Foundation and the Jerusalem Foundation signed an agreement for a total renovation and improvement of the Bracha Goldstein Park. The new park will be inaugurated in 2007. |

Family Day Care Center and Hostel for emotionally handicapped children
|
||
| With assistance from the Cukier, Goldstein-Goren Foundation, the Jerusalem Foundation, set up a Family Day Care Center and Hostel for children whose handicaps stem from emotional problems. The Hostel, built in 1983, now houses eight girls aged 13-15 who study in a special education school. The Cukier, Goldstein-Goren Foundation’s financing was used to purchase, renovate and furnish the six-room apartment that houses the Hostel. | ||
